At The Costume House, our mission is simple: to make high-end, stylish costumes more accessible to dancers and studios across Australia.

After owning and operating our own dance studio for over 10 years, we know firsthand the challenges that come with costuming—finding pieces that are unique, high-quality, and within budget, all while managing the demands of a busy studio schedule. We also understand the pressure parents face when purchasing expensive costumes that are often worn once and quickly outgrown.

The Costume House was created to offer a smarter, more sustainable solution. Our hire model not only helps reduce textile waste but also gives dancers access to standout costumes without the ongoing cost. Whether you’re a studio owner looking to streamline your performance planning or a dancer after something special, we’re here to help.

What shipping options to you offer?

We offer two convenient options for shipping:

Express Shipping: Available for an additional fee Australia wide.

Click & Collect: Collect your order direct from our HQ located in Wyong, NSW.

When you opt for shipping you will receive a pre-paid return postage bag with your order, already filled out with the return shipping details.

What sizes do you have available?

We offer a diverse selection of costumes in various sizes, all of which are shown on our website.

Our current sizing range includes:

  • Childs 4-14
  • Adults XS-L
  • XSC-XLC
  • XSA-LA

Our goal is to continue expanding our collection, providing even more size options for troupe costumes and a broader range of solo sizes.

Are in-person fittings available before placing a hire order?

Yes! Local customers are welcome to try on costumes before hiring. Simply email us with the names of the costumes you are interested in and we will arrange a fitting time.

Do you sell costumes or only hire them?

Our main focus is providing custom made solo and troupe costumes for hire, making high-quality costumes accessible without the high price tag. We understand that spending $400+ on a custom costumes that may only fit for a few months isn't practical for many families.

While we may consider selling cotsumes in the future, we currently offer hire-only options.

What are your prices?

Our costumes are categorised into three pricing tiers: Budget, Mid Range and High End.

The final cost also depends on your rental period. Options include weekend hire (Friday to Monday), 6 Month and 12 Month.

Do you require a bond?

No, we do not require a bond. However, we do require a credit card to be kept on file for the duration of your hire.

If our terms and conditions are breeched the full retail price of the costume will be charged to your card.

Do we need to clean the costumes before returning them?

No, we handle all costume cleaning for you.
